Chris Simms is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons. He is the son of former NFL quarterback Phil Simms. Chris Simms played college football at the University of Texas, where he was a two-time All-American. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
Simms’ NFL career was plagued by injuries. He started 14 games for the Buccaneers in 2005 and 2006, but he was injured in both seasons. He was traded to the Tennessee Titans in 2008, but he was injured again in 2009. He was released by the Titans in 2010 and signed with the Denver Broncos, but he was injured again in 2011. He was released by the Broncos in 2012 and retired from the NFL.
